COMPLETE Hilda Mary Gardiner and Frederick George Bowen
When Hilda Mary Gardiner was born on August 18, 1888, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, her father, Samuel Gardiner (1859-1914), was 28, and her mother, Teresa (nee Stevens) (1861-1921), was 27. She had two brothers and six sisters.
Both Frederick and Hilda were living in Oakville, Ontario at the time of the marriage. Frederick's occupation is listed as a Farmer. Hilda's brother Frederick and sister Marion were witnesses.
Frederick George Bowen was born in 1898 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, the son of John Bowen and Elizabeth (nee Haines).
Hilda Bowen died on July 5, 1991 at the age of 103.
Hilda and her daughter Frances (Bowen) Hill are buried in Section R, Plot 0185 at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
I have also not located any information related to the death of Frederick Bowen. There is a Frederick Bowen buried at Fairview Cemetery and he was someone's husband, but the dates don't match, and this Fred's middle initial was R. not G. I also checked the Niagara Falls Library listing for Frederick's obituary and was not able to locate it.
On June 30, 1922, 34-year-old Hilda married 24-year-old Frederick Geroge Bowen in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is listed as Hilda's daughter's Frances' father on her death certificate, however, it is unlikely given the date of the marriage and the fact that Frederick would have been 16 at the time.
As well, oddly, Frances Bowen is born in 1914, but she does not appear on the 1921 census with her mother, who is living with her siblings. No birth registration for Frances has been located.
Both Frederick and Hilda were living in Oakville, Ontario at the time of the marriage. Frederick's occupation is listed as a Farmer. Hilda's brother Frederick and sister Marion were witnesses.
